I'm I the only one here who ever speculates on why some ebay auctions are for some what damaged dolls. I mean what was (Child A) doing to the doll that cause the (leg, arm, stuffing, head) to come undone. I can understand chewed fingers, my cousins had a dog that liked to chew toys, and my parents dogs eyed my dolls for the longest time when I lived with them. But some things make me question what happened to the dollie. Was there an evil sibling, or does the child have no respect for their toys (especially expensive collectable toys). Just thinking this as I was browsing ebay.

    Unhappy

I wonder the same exact thing & those are the ones I want to rescue, but I am not very good at repairs, so I am hoping and praying they go to a good home where they can be repaired. If I had money, I would adopt them all and sent them to AG Hospital ASAP, but I can't. It is very sad to imagine how they got that way!

When I was about five a little girl from my class was over and we were playing with my baby dolls. She decided to change my doll's outfit. I told her the shirt wouldn't fit over the doll's head and needed to be pulled down over the body but she insisted that wasn't the right way to change a baby's clothes. She tugged at the shirt and sure enough it wouldn't fit-- she pulled my doll's head off. Freak things can happen with a doll.

Or kids can just not care about the doll and mistreat it.

When I was little, I had a Madame Alexander baby doll that I loved. My brother tried to pull it away from me and the head came off. I was beside myself and slept with that head on my dresser for a week.

I have a 9 year old and can tell you some kids just don't take care of thier toys! One little girl got Marisol just because another did. When DD went over there, she said the doll was a wreck. How do you destroy a doll in a year? I know this little girl's parents and they buy her things just to shut her up. Figures.

Every time i go to AGP i'm happy to see that most kids keep their dolls in good shape. I've only seen a few with really ratty hair or serious damage. I once bough a doll with a hair cut from an ebay seller. She had other dolls for sale and they all had hair cuts too. She said a neighbor's child had come over and did it. That kid sounds like a real brat imho.
